Leonardo Da Vinci – ‘ANATOMY TO ROBOTS’ (Re-Visited) + A world 1ST exclusive mystery solved!

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of being invited to the Leonardo Da Vinci’s – ‘ANATOMY TO ROBOTS exhibition for a more in depth tour. It was quite an experience with the guidance of the Creator, Mr. Luigi Rizzo and fresco master, Mr. Antonio De Vito. We discovered there is a lot more to Leonardo Da Vinci than just his paintings. The man had a thirst for understanding the human anatomy, motion, creating/inventing robots as well as flying mechanics.

Dali

So who had enough patience to line up in the cold for the last night of the Dali exhibition at NGV?  We walked halfway down the line about 50m or so before we called it quits..ha  On a ligther note we grabbed a bite of Asian goodness, 3 people seated on a table for two, check it out.  Asian efficiency at it’s best!   Food was great!

Drewfunk_Eflyer

Yep, Drewfunk’s back with another exhibition of his unique style, this time at the Oh Really Gallery in Sydney for all you Sydney-siders.  Now’s your chance to drop by and see why we like his stuff so much .  If it’s as good as his last exhibition, which we’re sure it will be, you won’t be disappointed.  Those that got to check out and purchase Drew’s work last year at the Gorker Gallery know a good thing when they see it.  By the way, we have no idea where Newton is..ha.  ENJOY!!

PEACE!

DREWFUNK at Gorker Gallery

“Malaysian born illustrator/graffiti artist Drewfunk now resides in Melbourne.  He draws his inspiration from city streets whilst staying true to his oriental heritage and has been adopted as one of our finest.” Gorker gallery flyer.

So who’s Drewfunk?  We didn’t have much of a clue either until we received a newsletter from Gorker about his exhibition at their gallery.  The flyer pic itself made us pen a visit down in our to do list…wouldn’t you agree?  Stuck our heads in during one of our fabric hunting expeditions and was absolutely blown away by what we saw.  Pure white walls simplistically filled with super original caricatures cleverly painted on thick timber canvases.  Choosing a timber canvas really made the difference we recon, its just so freakin cool..ha!  Not to mention his traditional seal/stamp that’s a chicken, well we think its a chicken.  Not surprisingly a lot of the pieces were already sold which strangely made us want to buy one even more…..designer envy to all who bought one, you lucky fuggers!

Remember the name Drewfunk cause this brotha’s got some serious talent.  Write it on paper and eat it if you have to.  Check out his page and sign your arses up to the Gorker gallery mailing list so you won’t miss out on another cool exhibition like this one YO!

P.S. Don’t forget to say hi to the guys’n'gals behind the desk, they’re all a bunch of cool cats.  We met the lovely Lauren this time round =)
